The second reason we cheat is CRAVINGS....cravings are so common most of us think nothing of them, but according to Dr. Ray Strand, a leading nutritional specialists, giving in to cravings not only sets us up for a lifetime of being overweight, but also increases our chances of such diseases and diabetes and cancer.
Breaking away from cravings can dramatically affect your weight, energy, and long term health.

Hang in there....you can do it you just have to know the enemy in order to beat him.

Why we fail at diets

Part One of Three
One reason we fail at diets is because we are hungry. Why are we so hungry? Well the modern diet contains lots of foods with a high glycemic index. That means that the foods provide quick energy, but it is short lived and then you are hungry. High glycemic diets have been linked to obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Many convenience foods on the shelf today are hight glycemic. As you might have guessed foods with a low glycemic index provide nutrients needed to eep hunger from returning quickly and sustains energy. Low glycemic foods control appetite and delay hunger.

I've been replacing one to two meals a day with a low glycemic shake or bar for about 6 months now. Aside from the weight loss, I am most excited about the fact that I have almost completely stopped snacking....I'm not hungry and no longer have the desire to just eat all the time.

Stay tuned for the next two parts on why we fail at dieting.
