Breast Cancer and Weight Loss

Did you know that maintaing a healthy weight reduces your risk of breast cancer? Why is it that we will take chemo(medicine so strong it kills our cells) when we have cancer, but we won't do things to prevent cancer?

Doctors tell us that a eating right and staying fit will help prevent diseases yet we still come up with excuses of busy etc...

Check out breast cancer statistics in your area.

As breast cancer awareness month comes to an end what better way to honor a loved one touched by the disease than to take control of your weight and possibly prevent breast cancer from happening to you.

Diet Foods Don't Taste Good

The third reason we fail at dieting is that diet foods don't taste good or if they allow us to eat real foods the rules are so difficult a nutritionists couldn't even follow them.

I don't know about you but I don't have time for diets like that. I just want something quick, easy, and affordable. It has to taste good and fill me up...just saying the word diet makes me hungry...But that was before I found the right supplements for me. Now I have a simple shake for breakfast and sometimes lunch and that's it. It passes the KISS test....I'm a mother of two toddlers everything in my life has to pass the KISS test. KEEP IT SIMPLE.

I've lost the weight and now I just use the shakes for the health benefits and to maintain.

You are just one choice away from reaching your goals....the only bad choice is to be undecided.

The second reason we fail at dieting

The second reason we cheat is CRAVINGS....cravings are so common most of us think nothing of them, but according to Dr. Ray Strand, a leading nutritional specialists, giving in to cravings not only sets us up for a lifetime of being overweight, but also increases our chances of such diseases and diabetes and cancer.
Breaking away from cravings can dramatically affect your weight, energy, and long term health.

Hang in there....you can do it you just have to know the enemy in order to beat him.

Reason three coming soon.

Why we fail at diets

Part One of Three
One reason we fail at diets is because we are hungry. Why are we so hungry? Well the modern diet contains lots of foods with a high glycemic index. That means that the foods provide quick energy, but it is short lived and then you are hungry. High glycemic diets have been linked to obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Many convenience foods on the shelf today are hight glycemic. As you might have guessed foods with a low glycemic index provide nutrients needed to eep hunger from returning quickly and sustains energy. Low glycemic foods control appetite and delay hunger.

I've been replacing one to two meals a day with a low glycemic shake or bar for about 6 months now. Aside from the weight loss, I am most excited about the fact that I have almost completely stopped snacking....I'm not hungry and no longer have the desire to just eat all the time.

Stay tuned for the next two parts on why we fail at dieting.
